FEAR? NO, IS NOT FOR LEADERS.
I learnt from one of my mentors sometimes ago that your ability to say no when you're to say it without feeling guilty or be afraid of the next reactions is a sign of maturity and boldness. You can't be known for yes for everything because you're scared of what people will say or do to you, you should be able to stand with your words even in the midst of threats. Mind you, you can't effect any change positively without stepping on toes. People will always want you to dance to their tones and when you begin to take your stand then, they will begin to use all the necessary means at their disposal to change what you had brought forth. Threat, intimidation all means available to them, its now left for you to take your ground. Leaders are not known for fear, they can't be intimidated out of their decisions. Once you know the cause you're fighting is a just one, please don't give up have courage. Mind you courage isn't absence of fear but ability to push the fear aside and continue. Check through the lives of those who made impacts you will realize they refused to yield to threats, many of them even went to prison because they're fighting a just cause, forgetting their lives ambitions and families just to make sure they fight their battles to the end. And if you check the likes of Nelson Mandela, Martin Luther King Jr and the rest you would realize they can't be forgotten because they refused to yield to threats, they rejected fear when it came. Fear only come to rub us of our glory but we can reject it. See what one man that I respect so much has to say about fear and leadership. Brian Tracy said and I quote: "everyone is afraid. The leader is the person who masters the fear and acts in spite of the fear". You can now see that to be an effective leader you need to master your fear and act, no mater the challenge it might pose to you. Fear will always come, either through people or even through doubt but never yield to it. GREAT LEADERS MASTERS THEIR FEARS
